As it stands, workers of the gig economy have no rights, and are battling against an unfair system.
Late week, the Fair Work Ombudsman ruled that workers of the gig economy, including Uber drivers, were not employees. This, of course, makes that already unstable industry even more so.
There’s been a lot of discussion about the rights gig economy workers have. Sadly, big business can choose not to just ride it out.
As it stands, the gig economy grants those who deliver our food very little security, sometimes paying them as little as $6 an hour if they’re fortunate. It’s time we deliver change.
